Nassau is a picturesque village in the Ore Mountains with about 800 inhabitants. Founded around 1200, it is one of the longest forest strip villages in Saxony. The name derives from "Nasse Aue" (wet meadow) – a reference to the wet meadows along the village stream.
Nassau has been a state-recognized health resort for over 100 years and impresses with its quiet location in the valley between Muldental and Frauenstein, surrounded by forests and gentle hills.
